Park Central Raleigh Floorplan Booklet
Goal
Recreate the floorplans provided by the client in higher quality and design a printed booklet the client can use to show the available floorplans to potential tenants.
Overview
Partnered with the Art Director to design a printed, 100+ page floorplan booklet with both non-ADA and ADA floorplans for Park Central Raleigh Apartments on an urgent deadline.
Process
Park Central Raleigh Apartments came to What's Happening Promotions with an urgent request. They needed a floorplan booklet to showcase their floorplans, but the only files they had available were similar to blueprints and were low quality. They also needed this booklet soon, meaning we had to recreate the floorplans, design the booklet, and get them printed and delivered to Raleigh by the deadline.
To ensure we met the deadline, the Art Director recruited me as a partner and we divided and conquered the tasks for this project. I started by communicating with a third party vendor to recreate the floorplans, ensuring accuracy and an editable format the AD and I could work with. While waiting on the floorplan files, I created a booklet layout in InDesign using master pages, making the process of labeling all of the floorplans and dropping in the images as efficient as possible.
Once the floorplan drawings were delivered by the vendor, I went in and manually colored the walls to give the floorplans some life before putting them into the booklet file. I took extra care in organizing all the pages and ensured all the floorplans were correctly labeled, including the ADA symbol when applicable. Finally, I packaged the files for press in the format the printer requested and organized all of the folders for delivery by the deadline.
