Ibotta SecUrity Awareness Month

Project details

This project was an internal volunteer request with the goal of announcing upcoming events that would cover security best practices for employees, both at work and at home. After seeing and liking the design, the requesting team expanded the original brief from just an announcement Slack graphic to also include a flyer they could hang in the office, a t-shirt design, and stickers they could give out to participants.

The requesting team had an idea for the overall theme: "SecUrity", with the "U" emphasized to highlight the employee focus of the planned events, but gave me freedom to get creative with the concept. For the typography, I used Ibotta brand colors and different letter heights to separate the three parts of the text to emphasize the "U".

To make the announcement more eye-catching, I designed a custom illustration to accompany the typography that shows a padlock in the shape of a folder, using a 3D style to compliment the style of the typography. For the flyer and Slack graphic, I added a shield, password field, and subtle numbers in the background to fill the space and add some flair. The t-shirt design was modified for a 4 color screen print, knowing the team had a limited budget.
